Abstract
Osteopetrosis, also known as Albers-Shonberg disease, osteosclerosis fragilis, marble bones end chalk bones, is a rare hereditary, congenital and familial abnormality in bone growth, the disturbed mechanism of which appears to be a failure or inhibition of resorption of ,calified chondroid and p.imitive bone. Recognizable cases of osteopetrosis have been described since the middle of the eighteenth century under a variety of names. And since that time numerous papers have appeared ascribing an amusing variety of alterations in -physiology to account for the clinical and morphologic findings of the disease. We have under our observation a 3.8 years old male patient who came to us due to the pathologic fracture in trochanteric region of the left femur.
